On Saturday, after picking up the car in Wingfield, near Port Adelaide, the route will be Adelaide to Clare ! Only 106kms, but must get to Bungaree Station in time for roast dinner waiting for us, AND the British and Irish Lions test vs the Wallabies starting at 7.30 pm SA time. Www.bungareestation.com.au
The Harrisons are not scared. We are Brits but we will not whinge! Our car is almost as old as we are and our children are pampered but we will follow the Whelans and bravely drive into the Red Centre. We are prepared to be completely gobsmacked by the sky, the distances, the views, the rocky outcrops, the beating sun, the stars at night. We revel in freezing nights under canvas, we laugh in the face of cold baked beans for supper, we can do it!
ReplyDeleteThe Mitsubishi Outlander has arrived in Adelaide. We are stocked up on Eclipse mints for the journey, and Charlie has a "Do-it-Yourself Diary of a Wimpy Kid". So we are all set!
