Winding up, with a few more extras

Having safely returned to Sydney, the Harrisons and Whelans have washed the red dust out of their clothes and returned to normal business...
The wine purchases from Sevenhill Winery in the Clare Valley have arrived, but so far no sign of the cars, which are hopefully on a truck somewhere between Alice Springs and Sydney! Here are some more extras - a few photos that were not previously posted on the blog during the glorious Red Centre Overland trip.

Macdonnell Ranges

The long off road endurance test from Kings Canyon to Alice via Hermansberg and a flat tyre.  A quick pilgrimage for Jack to show Charlie Standley Chasm which he remembers visiting in 1969 aged 9. Alice Springs feels like an oasis despite the dry Todd River - scene of the Henley on Todd regatta in a few weeks time. But we have arrived in time for the Camel Cup tomorrow !

The big red rock - we're here!

After a six hour drive from Marla, we finally made it to Uluru, and no one said "is that it ?" More like, "wow, that's it !" Almost as impressive as the road train spotted on the journey as Charlie counted 62 tyres and 8 spares!
